Girls LEAP Columbus Banner
PROJECT SPOTLIGHT
Meet Girls LEAP
Gaby Edon’s vision for her non-profit, Girls LEAP, is centered around her belief that education is the most powerful tool to alleviate poverty. Through STEM, family support, and strong bonds, Girls LEAP empowers first generation African girls to strengthen their communities from the inside out.
In addition to having the second largest population of Somalians in the U.S., Columbus also has significant populations from Ghana, Nigeria, and Ethiopia, among others. Gaby believes these communities are underserved and, when resources are limited, the education of young women suffers.
Girls LEAP participated in the September BrandCamp as a product of their involvement with ECDI accelerator programs. Through BrandCamp, Girls LEAP was able to refine the brand’s goals, values and messaging platform to communicate a commitment to first generation African girls in Central Ohio.
As a key part of BrandCamp, Conspire helped Girls LEAP craft a Brand Anthem to serve as a north star for how to communicate.
Girls LEAP Brand Anthem
We are the only non-profit dedicated to elevating first generation African girls in Central Ohio.
Built on three pillars of STEM education, relationship building, and family support – our services are designed to equip girls to become transformational leaders and difference makers in their communities.
In a world that hasn’t been designed for them to succeed, we’re here to inspire African girls to believe they can, and empower them with resources to do it...
We believe she will do it, when we help her believe she can.
Conspire Approach
Campers made their choice of one ‘QuickWin’ design, a tool that will help them solve an immediate problem.
Gaby hosts socials, fundraisers, events, camps and so much more for her community. Our goal was to provide a multi-use banner that would serve as a proud backdrop for photography and video, set the stage at any event she hosts, and work as a call-to-action wherever she pops it up.
Choosing a functional product was just as important as designing an eye-catching piece that amplifies the Girls LEAP brand story. A fabric banner that can be folded neatly into a small bag and thrown in the laundry when dirty will give Girls LEAP a practical tool that’s built to last.
