Meet Black Kahawa Coffee
After years spent as a missionary in Tanzania, Doug Buckley brought his passion for coffee and connection to those growing it to his garage on the east-side of Columbus. Toting a one-origin coffee that already goes toe-to-toe with some of the best beans in the game, Doug has been building a brand that’s as strong as his dark roast.
Conspire Approach
The record of Tanzanian coffee is a tale as old as time and Conspire made an effort to weave an ancient story with the modern Black Kahawa identity. The goal was to translate the messaging into a piece of collateral that not only brings more product clarity to coffee consumers, but can speak directly to shop owners, wholesalers, roasters, and potential investors.
How It Went
The challenge to deliver one functional piece that could speak to an array of audiences, each with unique relationships and goals with coffee, created a fun opportunity for Conspire to assess the Black Kahawa brand and look for opportunities to amplify current efforts.
A two-sided band that unfolds to tell the brand story, coffee’s story, and story of the beans it’s wrapped around was born from the hope of adding more messaging to the packaging that could stand alone when pitching in sales opportunities.
